“Problems in Multiple Colors”
I create two-dimensional dioramas, placing small figures in fields of color. Either imposed by it or released. Either sequestered from social interaction or dealing with their extremes.

These paintings express anxieties. Self-destruction, human interaction, bodies, home, violence. Through the poses of these small figures I express kineticism, melancholy, surrender. These paintings are a space for me to fake control. Each one is planning and execution, painting each color one by one, finding contrast in color and shape that satisfy me until I’ve made something that feels complete. Artist-  Lucas Kruse
